A Little Spring

I have been having fun re-purposing some neat finds for
the shop!  I think it is one of my favorite things to do!

And, of course, with the onset of spring comes...

Here is the bird cage I changed up into a bunny cage!

Benjamin bunny hopped right out of the shop!

I stumbled onto this pretty, chippy, white, birdy candle sconce,
and upon seeing the bird, knew it had to have a nest!!

Here is how it turned out:

This little tweet flew right out of the shop, too! {smile}

I have been working on those eggs, and will post about
them soon!  I have been having fun with them!

It's amazing what you can come up with when
you just start thinking a little outside of the box!!
That's not easy for me so I have to...

Bend and stretch, reach for the SKY,
Stand on tippy toes oh so high!

Does anyone out there know where
that little song
came from?

Be the first to tell me
, and I will
send you one of my soon to be released
Organic Lavender Sachets
made from 80-100 year old vintage linen
 and divine French lavender!!

Happee Wednesday!!
Make it a great day!!

Love ya!

Just Another Day?

Happy Friday!
I read this quote this morning over
at Privet and Holly and just have
to share it with you!

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.
Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face
into the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the
sky and want, more than all the world,
  your return.
~ Mary Jean Iron

Hope your "normal weekend"
is filled with wonderfulness
in the doing...whatever it may be!

Share your smile today!! :o)

Happy Thursday!

Hope your day is going well!!

Mine is, though it was a bit of a rough start because I
didn’t sleep well last night!

Sometimes I just get too wound up and can’t settle in!
Kinda frustrating, but I’m over it now!!  {smile}

The party went really well,
that is, except for when…

I dropped Mallory’s cake!!

YES folks, I really did drop her cake!!!

It is a very large coconut cake from Sam’s…her fave!

Sad thing, though, the tray it was on has NO type of rim
to steady the cake if you tip the tray even slightly

And SPLAT it went hitting the cabinet door and falling almost
to the floor, but my sister in law’s tote bag broke it’s fall,

and it suffered only minor coconut flake loss and smudging of the icing!!!

Quite funny actually!!!

This is the girls sitting with their cakes, while we sing
Happy Birthday to them…we have done it like this since they were
little, but on their individual days.  We’ve combined them in their adulthood!

You can see that Mal’s cake just doesn’t look quite right!!  HA!!!!

Sam’s is her fave, a Carvel ice cream cake!  And NO!  No other ice cream cake tastes
as good as a Carvel cake!  For those of you who know what they are, you know what I mean!!!

Mal’s boyfriend seems like a great guy, and we all had a wonderful time!

This is the two of them smiling for the camera!

Well, that’s my story for today!

I have to get busy!!!

Hope your day is full of joy and little delights!!

Love ya bunches!

A Burdened Heart

I know that my posts are usually encouraging and upbeat, but
this morning, as well as the past week, my heart has been so burdened
for our world...and for the people of Japan, who have suffered
incredibly since the 9.0 earthquake.

I awoke to the news this morning that over 1000 bodies had washed
up on the shore, something I had just said to my family 2 days ago.

There is no way to comprehend what these people are experiencing.
And it is so difficult to make sense of things like this, and the "why"
of it all.

I believe these things are a call.

A call to prayer for our world.

Prayer asking for mercy from our loving God.

Prayer asking that we as a people, as a world,
will respond to God's Spirit and repent of our evil,
and recognize Christ as Lord.

Prayer asking the we will turn from our pursuits, and selfishness,

And prayers and praises of thanksgiving for our MANY blessings,
and guidance from God to help us make each day count,
and to LOVE ONE ANOTHER purely, deeply, and without thought
for ourselves, as Christ modeled for us.

And of course, prayer for the wonderful people of Japan.

Whose lives have been torn apart...and whose memories
have been scattered to the sea...

Whose loved ones have died...

Who have no home, no electricity, no water.

Who are clinging to life as I type these words.

May You, Father, be with them.  Comfort them, strengthen them
for all they must yet go through, meet their every need,
and fill their hearts with Your Hope.

Move on each of us and the hearts of the world to
come to their aid in any way we can.

I ask these things in Jesus' mighty Name.  Amen.

My sweet friends,

{comments have been disabled, please use the time to pray for Japan}

Much Love,

Breath Deeply...

{photo used with permission www.provencebeyond.com}

Can you imagine the incredible aroma that wafts through the afternoon air out in the
Provence countryside, where the lavender fields stretch as far as the eye can see?

I can!! Breathing it in, and smelling the sweet softness all through the day!!  What
absolute JOY to one's senses!

On this the Lord's day, I am focusing on the fragrance that flows from my life...
my heart, my lips, my deeds...

And asking that God will purify it all, and cause it to be as glorious in His nostrils,
as the scent of fresh lavender is in mine.

"Search me, O God,
and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties,
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting."

Psalm 139:23-24

May your day of worship and rest be delightful, and filled
with the joy of the Lord!!!

Love ya bunches,

Wonderful Whites!

What is it about WHITE?

I mean for decades people had white walls, and then
the big change-a-roo came and we all just had to have
some color on our walls!!

Well, I have to say that I wanted to surround myself
with the warm tones of nature...AND DID!!  I championed
the delight of earthtones to every one I knew!  Heaven forbid
we should have a white wall in the house!

But in the last year, I have fallen, and I mean
FALLEN, in love with whites!!!

The great thing about white:

When an object is cast in white, its unique character comes
to the fore and is rendered at its most pure, simple — and beguiling

Can't remember who said this, but it was a well known
interior designer.  I sooo agree with it!!
These photos are from Better Homes and Garden.
White is everywhere!

And I have a very soft spot in my heart for white ironstone
dinnerware!  As a matter of fact, I just made my first ironstone
purchase from a fellow Etsy shop owner and can't wait til
it arrives!!!  My early, early, early birthday present to me!

Here are 2 of the bowls I purchased.  I also bought 4 dinner
plates and 4 cereal bowls.

I will be purchasing some of these, too!  My current dinnerware is
a light harvest gold, and is lovely...but these will go with anything...

AND THEY ARE VINTAGE...and I love thinking about all the
hands that have served dinner on them, and eaten off of them...

You get the picture!!

It's the junker in me...I adore things with a story!!!

Here are some more wonderful whites from BHG!  I will begin slowly
transforming different areas of my home into white heaven over the
next months!!

Meanwhile, I'll borrow other people's photos to inspire you and ME!!

Another love...white vintage buttons...

I have enough to fit in a couple of these jars, but not the
ginormous one!!

After all a girl's gotta have a little stash, doesn't she???

What's in your "stash"?  Do tell!

Hope your Thursday is fabulous!!!
So glad you popped in for a visit!
