Maddy and I hopped into the car
and took a
a little drive to Lake Monroe a
couple of days ago.  It's a large lake
off the St. John's River.

The city of Sanford has poured
their hearts and souls into creating
a lake walk, park, marina and memorial
park that offers something for everyone.
And they did a great job with beautiful
plantings lining the streets.

Whenever I need to destress a bit,
I take a slow drive around the lake
with the windows down, and just take it all in.

It is absolutely teeming with wildlife.
We saw at least 1/2 dozen gators, and
lots of birds.

Part of the memorial park.
Love how Maddy edited this shot.

This sailboat is one of about 2-3 that are
always anchored out there.
I think it might be abandoned.

I don't know what kind of bird
this is, maybe hawks or ospreys,
but this is their nest, and there
are babies in it too!

One of them grabbed
a bit of breakfast.
When it had what it wanted,
it flew the rest back to the nest.

Guess these used to be docks.
Love the weathered wood
and structure of them.

Well, I have heard that Blogger isn't
letting others upload photos,
and now it won't let me add the rest.

Guess I need to download windows
live writer again!
As big as Google is, you'd think they'd
have the kinks out of this by now!!

Have a wonderful day!!
More wedding prep here!!

Morning Miss Becky,
Looks very serene in those pics.
I have always heard about the lake walk or whatever but have really never been over to see it.
Might just have to do that sometime in the near future.
Bet you are getting excited about your new work area, sounds like it is gonna be nice.
I am gonna have to make some changes to our computer room to as I proceed with things. I went to get embellishments for cards last night, so I am about to finish another one, just trying to decide
which ones I want to use now. lol

Have a fun day, get that candy and I will give you a hand.
Love ya, Nellie

Good morning! Love the pictures. Melody and I use to take long drives too, just to unwind and have LONG conversations. We went up to Mt. Baldy which was right by us. How I miss those days and those drives. Wedding 2 is getting close! How excited you must be. Linger on all these moments for as long as you can Becky. Such a great season in your life. Enjoy your day! HUGS

What lovely photos!

I was having trouble with my photos too, and a friend suggested Google Chrome and I can now download tons, like I use to be able to! Try it, and please let me know if it helped you!

Thanks for sharing these wonderful shots of nature!

I love the lake there in Sanford, hubby and I ride the motorcycle there sometimes and eat at The Willow Tree, have you eaten there? They have awesome chicken salad with apples and pecans, and great peach ginger tea.....
I love the lakefront walkway, love to sit on the swings there...

Looks like a beautiful and peaceful place! Hope you're surviving the final weeks before the wedding! Can't wait to see the pictures. Didn't realize there was a problem with Blogger. I did my post last night and all was well. Hope they get it fixed soon! Enjoy your day! AND Mother's Day!!

Hi sweetie, Love your photos and yes I am having this same issue with blogger-grrr! Let me know if you make a change and if it is easier-blogger is so much easier than other sites.
I just wish they'd stop messing with it, as a senior it is harder and harder to adapt to changes.
Hugs, love and peace to you today.

You do need to distress...You are almost on easy street! I have heard a lot of people have had trouble downloading pictures, so your misery has company!

Thank you for the mini-vacation, Becky! Since I didn't make it to Florida last month, any tropical photos are truly a treat for me! I could almost hear the water lapping on shore..... :)

Happy Mother's Day, sweetie!

Hi Beck, Hey I tried Google Chrome and it still won't let me upload photos to my design template. I still can upload for posts though. I'm going to ask Donna about it-since she suggested it.
Hugs, Noreen

If they would stop fixing stuff that "ain't broke" and fix what is at blogger and google, we might find a little peace.

As it is, I loved the shots you took and think this looks like exactly the kind of haven I need right now.
