Sentimental Silver

My sweet sis recently told me that she had some of my Mom's old silver plate trays and gravy boats.  She was going to put them in a yard sale to help raise money for an adoption
for my niece.

I told her that I would sell them in my shop
and get considerably more money for them
than they would fetch at a yard sale, so she
sent them home with my hubby when he was
recently up her way.

Little did I know that as soon as I laid my eyes on them, they would never be leaving my sight! {there are more than pictured here!}

I think they will be hung on the wall
above our computer desk where I spend
so much of my time!!

I'll do a full post on them later on.
A couple of them belonged to
my Mama Rose, and maybe to her Mom,
judging from the markings.

Just had to share my delight with you!
They have already given me so much joy!

I will be sending my niece money for
her adoption, but not from the sale of
these lovely sentimental silver pieces!!

Oh and one more thing!

As of yesterday, I have now been
blessed to be this man's wife for 33 years!!

We have actually know each other
since 6th grade, when I had a mad
crush on him, and he didn't know I
was alive! Ha ha!!

I love that he puts up with me,
and loves me unconditionally!!
Thanks, baby!  You're the best!

Be a blessing to someone today, ok?
Hugs,
Becky

Becky, Happy Anniversary-girl you two were meant to be together. Always amazes me how many things we have in common, like how long we knew our hubbies before they loved us. I think it is so precious that you are keeping your silver trays. My mil gave us so many, back when it was popular to have them, that are sitting downstairs and are never used.
Hope you have a wonderful day dear friend.
Love you!
Nor

Morning Becky,
I was thinking when You said they belonged to your Mom, I can't believe she is gonna sell those, cause I know how sentimental you are and how much you loved your Mother.
Glad you are gonna keep them, and can't wait to see how they look on your wall. What a wonderful reminder of your sweet Mom to have there every single day. That is wonderful!

and Happy Anniversary!! and 33 years, always so great to hear of couples who have been married a long time and are still happy and have weathered the storms of life
well............living and loving!

Sure enjoyed last Friday. How are you doing this week? Maybe we can
get together again on Thursday or
Friday.

Love ya, Nellie

I LOVE that you are keeping your Mom's trays, they will make your heart warm every time you look at them. I kept so many of my Moms treasures when she passed away 3 yrs ago, her collection of tea cups greet me everyday and mirrors she had hanging in her home are now hanging in mine. We both shared the same love of cozy, homey things. I also have a silver tray that was a bowling trophy she won when I was a little girl...her team name was the RAMBLIN REBELS! I love the memories as I know you do too. Congrats to you and your hubby also!!! XO

Nice to hear the silver will be staying in the family. Love the story of you having a crush on your husband when you were in 6th grade. I think of all the boys I was crushing over back then and it scares me a little to think what if I married one of them:) hum! Happy for the two of you!
