Doily Baskets!

I posted a tutorial HERE a few years ago on how to make delightful bowls, or candle holders out of vintage doilies.

Well, they also make charming little Easter baskets!  And they are sooo easy to make!

I threw this together today on a whim
to show you in case you haven't seen them used
like this.

I simply painted smaller paper mache eggs,
and the wood bird with acrylic paints.

If you are painting paper mache, I strongly recommend NOT using the cheaper acrylics.  I painted the pink one with the store brand and it took way more coats, and much longer to dry.

I cut some wings from vintage calico fabric, adhered them with Elmer's glue,
and printed out Easter Joy in the
Jane Austen font

Add in some colorful straw grass, and
floral elements {found at JoAnn}
and they're just so cute, you'll want
to keep making them!!

They would be pretty place card holders,
plate ornaments, or lined up for a
whimsical centerpiece.

Have a lovely Sunday,
and splash some of your JOY around!
