A New Love~Driftwood Sailboats!!

OK, this is just too much fun!
I haven't had time like this to create in
like forever, it seems!!

And these charming driftwood sailboats
are my new obsession!

What do you think?

I'm thinking I might actually make
some for me to keep!!

When I sit down to create, I have a few
raw materials, and a design in my mind, but I don't know until I'm finished how it will turn out and that is just the best!!  Sometimes I am bummed, and have to start over, but not very often.

I used the wonderful 80-120 yo hand loomed
Euro linen for the sail, and the white patch is vintage French linen.  Both are absolutely my favorite textiles to work with!!

I have the feeling that I will be designing
lots more of these!!!  I see big ones with
more bling, lace, ticking sails, sets, etc!!

My hubby actually recommended the
grommets, and I love how they look!
He's good like that!

There will be 5 of these
sweet flower tags in the shop soon!

The Euro linen is so versatile!

 Well, back to my workbench!
Hope you are really enjoying
your day!

Hugs and Joy to You!

Hi Becky, Driftwood boats are a summer past time at our home. A challenge to find the right balance to float for races. Old maps make great sails.

Perfectly adorable! I have been crushing over driftwood sailboats too but I haven't tried making any yet. Driftwood is sparse around here. I love yours so much!

Your boat is just the cutest! My boys would love something like that but I don't think I'd let them touch it. =)
